Moving closer, this view is from 2e6 km above the surface, more than two and a half times the width of the Moon's orbit. In this view you can clearly see the different scales being used. The oceans are the most prominent large scale features, then the clouds, and finally the land. the nearer oceans. It is helpful in getting an idea of the scale involved here to note that each pixel at the bottom of the image represents about 2600km! The Earth would be about 5 pixels wide at that scale. If the entire Ringworld were textured as though it were millions of Earths, all laid out flat, then from this distance, it would be have no real discernible features.
